Our mission at St. John Ambulance India is to save lives and build a nation of first aiders.
St. John Ambulance India exists to prevent and relieve sickness and injury, and to act in the interest of humanity. We do this by training people in first aid, supporting health initiatives, and responding to emergencies with compassion and competence.
Our mission is rooted in the global Order of St. John—a centuries-old tradition of service without distinction of race, class, or creed. In India, we focus on making first aid and CPR training accessible to every section of society: schools, colleges, corporates, factories, government bodies, and communities. We believe that when ordinary people are trained in life-saving skills, entire communities become safer and more resilient.
We work through a nationwide network of skill centres, training partners, and volunteer units. Our programmes range from basic first aid and CPR to advanced life support, workplace safety, and disaster preparedness. Every certificate we issue represents a person who can act when it matters most.
To reduce preventable deaths and injuries by making first aid and emergency care training accessible to every citizen across India. We believe that timely first aid can save countless lives in road accidents, cardiac emergencies, and everyday incidents.
To serve communities through free and subsidised first aid training, health camps, blood donation drives, and disaster preparedness programmes. We prioritise underserved areas and work with local institutions to maximise reach.
To build a network of certified first aiders and volunteers who can respond effectively in emergencies at home, workplace, and in public spaces. Every trained person becomes a potential lifesaver in their community.
To deliver training that meets national and international standards, with certified instructors and up-to-date curricula in first aid, CPR, and AED. We regularly update our content and partner with medical experts for validation.
To promote public awareness about first aid, road safety, and emergency response through schools, colleges, corporates, and community outreach. We run campaigns and workshops to make first aid a household habit.
To work with government bodies, hospitals, NGOs, and corporates to scale our reach and strengthen India's emergency response capacity. We believe in collaboration to achieve national impact.
